Six Sigma is a business-management process used by corporations worldwide to increase efficiency and capacity and reduce waste. It’s used not only to improve manufacturing processes, but also to improve finance, accounting, marketing, purchasing and other business processes.

Continuous improvement is an ongoing quest for all successful companies. At Chemtura, we are constantly searching for ways to improve performance to the benefit of our employees, customers and shareholders.

More than 600 Chemtura employees are trained in Six Sigma and more than 400 are trained in Lean Manufacturing techniques, focused on reducing waste and improving efficiency. Employees completed 223 Six Sigma projects in 2005 and 377 Lean events, resulting in more than $28 million in cost benefits.
