At Great Lakes, we are committed to supporting community efforts in several key categories.
They include:
Education. As a leading specialty chemical company, we are strong supporters of education,
particularly science-related curriculum, at all levels. We place special emphasis on
helping science programs attract the best students and guide them toward rewarding careers.
Health & Human Services. We believe in supporting organizations and activities that
meet the basic needs of people in our communities and help improve the way they live,
work, and learn.
Community Improvement. Stronger communities enhance the quality of life for our employees
and our neighbors. We place special emphasis on youth programs that encourage initiative,
independence, and self-reliance to help build the leaders of tomorrow. We also provide a
limited number of grants focused on improving municipal services and efficiency in government,
and others dedicated to improving the local environment.
Other Local Needs. Great Lakes supports a number of worthy civic, cultural, and arts
organizations and causes that have proven their effectiveness in producing results
and have a broad base of community support.
In addition to these general areas, we also give consideration to supporting organizations
in which our employees hold active leadership positions, as well as organizations our
customers support, when endorsed by Great Lakes employees.
