Executive Officers
Larry J. Bloom
Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Specialty
Products
Larry was named chief strategy officer in December 2004. He was
previously executive vice president, specialty products, a position
he had held since September 1999. He joined the Great Lakes BioLab,
Inc. subsidiary in 1970 and was named president and chief operating
officer in 1987. Over the years he held various positions of increasing
responsibility in the fields of engineering, business development,
sales and marketing, and operations management. In May of 1994,
Larry gained the additional responsibility of directing the Great
Lakes Water Treatment business unit, which services both recreational
and industrial markets. He was named executive vice president of
specialty products in February 2003 with added responsibility for
Great Lakes' specialty household cleaning business. Larry was graduated
from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in chemical engineering.
Angelo C. Brisimitzakis
Executive Vice President, Flame Retardants and Performance Products
Angelo currently serves as executive vice president, flame retardants
and performance products. Angelo joined the company in 1998 as vice
president, global supply chain, following 14 years at General Electric
Corporation, where he held leadership positions in sales, technology,
business development, supply chain and business management functions.
He earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from New York University and an M.B.A.
in Marketing from NYU/Pace University.
Richard (Dick) T. Higgons
Executive Vice President, Business Development
Dick joined Great Lakes as executive vice president, business development
in January 2001. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Dick was staff vice
president for corporate development with Mallinckrodt, Inc., a position
he held for five years. From 1991 to 1995, he was vice president
for business development for Mallinckrodt's chemical business. From
1988 to 1991, Dick held several senior management positions in finance,
business development and strategic planning for Imcera Group, Inc.
Dick earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Indiana Northern University.
Maurizio Butti
Executive Vice President, Polymer Stabilizers
Maurizio is executive vice president for polymer stabilizers. In
addition, he is Director of Asia Stabilizers, a joint venture with
Miwon Commercial Co. Ltd., and Chairman of Gulf Stabilizers Industries,
a joint venture with the Al Zamil group of the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. Prior to his current role, Maurizio was vice president of
business management and marketing for polymer stabilizers. He joined
Great Lakes in 1994 where he directed business development for the
polymer stabilizers business. From 1985 to 1994, Maurizio handled
strategic planning for Enichem Synthesis SpA after serving in product
management at SOL Industries. Maurizio holds a degree in chemical
engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and his M.B.A. from
Bocconi University of Milano.
John B. Blatz
Senior Vice President, Environmental Health and Safety
John joined Great Lakes in June 2001 as senior vice president of
environmental, health and safety. Prior to Great Lakes, John was
at Dexter Corporation for 10 years, where his last position was
vice president, environmental and process management. Prior to that,
he spent two years with Goldman Financial Group, Inc. as a managing
director and general counsel, where he was responsible for a number
of acquisitions and divestitures. From 1980 to 1988 he held numerous
positions of increasing responsibility at Emhart Corporation, now
a part of Black & Decker, culminating in his being named director
of environmental planning and compliance. He was associate counsel
with Scott Paper Company from 1978 to 1980 and in private practice
with the firm of O'Connor & Hannan before that. John earned a J.D.
from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1976, and a B.A.
from Dartmouth College in 1973.
Kevin M. Dunn
Executive Vice President, Specialty Products
Kevin will join Great Lakes in January 2005 as executive vice president,
specialty products and president/CEO of the Great Lakes BioLab Inc.
subsidiary. Prior to Great Lakes, Kevin was president of Playtex
Products Inc.'s consumer products division since 2000. A veteran
of the consumer products industry, he has managed a variety of highly
respected and well-known brands in household cleaning, personal
care, food products, laundry/personal care, and pharmaceuticals.
From 1995 to 1999, Kevin held numerous positions at Reckitt &
Colman, Inc. where his most recent role was senior vice president
and general manager of the household products division for North
America. From 1998 to 1994, Kevin held vice president and general
manager positions at Eastman Kodak Company. Kevin spent seven years
at L&F Products Inc., two years at Nabisco Brands, and four
years at Borden, Inc. primarily in product management roles.
John J. Gallagher III
Acting Chief Executive Officer
John was named acting chief executive officer in November 2004.
He joined Great Lakes as senior vice president and chief financial
officer in May 2001 and he gained responsibility for Global Supply
Chain activities in July 2003. Prior to joining Great Lakes, John
was vice president and chief financial officer at UOP LLC, a $1.1
billion global joint venture of the Dow Chemical Company and Honeywell
International, a position he held since 1999. John also served in
a number of positions of increasing responsibility at AlliedSignal,
Inc., now Honeywell International where he held the positions of
vice president finance and business development, Bendix Commercial
Vehicle Systems; Director, Business Analysis and Planning for all
of AlliedSignal; and Director, Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions.
He also spent nine years at Price Waterhouse LLP as a management
consultant on numerous M&A transactions, both in the U.S. and around
the world. John is a CPA and holds a B.S. in Accounting from the
University of Delaware.
Richard J. Kinsley
Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications
Rick joined Great Lakes Chemical Corporation in April of 1999 as
senior vice president, human resources and communications. Previous
to Great Lakes, Rick served as vice president, human resources for
AlliedSignal's Electronic Materials unit in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Prior to that, Rick worked for The Pfaudler Companies (a subsidiary
of British Petroleum) in a number of capacities, including vice
president, sales and marketing; vice president business development;
director, quality and continuous improvement; and director, human
resources. Before Pfaudler, he worked for Airco - Carbon & Graphite,
Inc. in employee relations, marketing, and production management.
Rick holds an M.B.A. from the University of Rochester and a B.S.
from LeMoyne College.
Jeffrey M. Lipshaw
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Jeff was named senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary
in October 1999. Jeff joined the company from Dykema Gossett PLLC,
a Detroit-based law firm, where he was Of Counsel from February
1998, and previously an associate and partner in the firm from 1979
until 1992. From 1993 through 1997, Jeff was vice president and
general counsel of AlliedSignal Automotive in Southfield, Michigan.
Jeff holds an A.B. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from
Stanford University.

Potrzebowksi
Acting Chief Financial Officer
Jeffrey
Potrzebowski was named acting chief financial officer in November
2004. Previous to this role, Jeff was vice president of investor
relations and financial analysis. He joined the company in June
of 1993 as director of internal audit. In September 1996, he assumed
the role of director of investor relations and was promoted to vice
president in 2002. Jeff brings more than 20 years of financial management
experience to his position. He has held various accounting and financial
positions, each with increasing responsibilities. Before joining
Great Lakes , he served as group controller for Stewart-Warner Corporation,
a subsidiary of BTR, Inc. Jeff's background also includes experience
at USG Corporation. Prior to that, he was with Price Waterhouse,
an international accounting and auditing firm for over 10 years.
A CPA, Jeff graduated from the University of Toledo in 1975 with
the B.S. in Business Administration.
Zoe Schumaker
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Zoe joined Great Lakes in February 2001 as senior vice president
and chief information officer. Prior to Great Lakes, she was vice
president, information technology at Ingersoll-Rand Company's IR
Security and Safety sector. From 1991 to 1999, Zoe worked at Blount
International, Inc., a diversified international manufacturer of
outdoor products, industrial and power equipment, and sporting equipment
where she was vice president, information systems. From 1991 to
1997, Zoe held several positions at Blount's Outdoor Products Group
including director of information systems, manager of division information
systems, and manager of systems development. Prior to that, Zoe
held positions in consulting and systems development. Zoe earned
a B.A. in Psychology from University of California at Berkeley and
an M.B.A. from University of Oregon in 1995.
William (Bill) L. Sherwood
Vice President and Corporate Controller
Bill joined Great Lakes in August 2000 following 16 years at Emst
& Young LLP. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Bill was senior manager
in the audit and assurance practice where he serviced numerous publicly
held companies in the manufacturing and commercial sectors. Bill
is a CPA and CISA and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Butler University.

Nigel D. T. Andrews

Mr. Andrews, 55, is a venture partner of Internet Capital Group.
Mr. Andrews was managing director of Internet Capital Group from
2000 to 2001. He served as executive vice president of GE Capital
from 1993 to 2000. Prior to this, he served as vice president and
general manager of GE Plastics-Americas. During Mr. Andrews' 13-year
career with GE, he also served as vice president for corporate business
development reporting to the chairman. Before joining GE, Mr. Andrews
was a partner at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Andrews is a director
of Old Mutual plc, a trustee of Victory Funds, and a governor of
the London Business School.
Mr. Andrews was named the non-executive chairman of the board in
November 2004 and serves on the Great Lakes Governance and Nominating
Committee and is chairman of the Compensation and Incentive Committee.
James W. Crownover

Director since 2000
Mr. Crownover, 59, retired in 1998 as a director of the global management
consulting firm of McKinsey & Company. During his 30-year career
with McKinsey, Mr. Crownover served as managing director and head
of its southwest practice, a member of its board of directors, and
head of its North American energy practice. Mr. Crownover currently
serves as a director of Unocal Corp., Weingarten Realty Investors,
and Allied Waste Industries, Inc.
Mr. Crownover serves as a trustee of Rice University and St. John's
School as well as a director of the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston
Zoo, and the United Way of Texas Gulf Coast. Mr. Crownover is also
a member of the advisory council of the Stanford Graduate School
of Business.
Mr. Crownover serves on the Great Lakes Compensation and Incentive
Committee and the Corporate Responsibility Committee.
Thomas M. Fulton

Mr. Fulton, 69, retired in 1998 as president and chief executive
officer of Landauer, Inc., a provider of radiation monitoring services.
Prior to joining Landauer in 1978, his career included various management
positions at Union Carbide Corporation, BASF Corporation, and ICN
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Mr. Fulton serves on the boards of the Advocate
South Suburban Hospital and the Bethel Community Facility. He also
serves as a life trustee on the board of the Chicago Theological
Seminary.
Mr. Fulton is chairman of Great Lakes Governance and Nominating
Committee and serves on the Compensation and Incentive Committee.
Martin M. Hale

Hellman, Jordan Management Co., Inc.
Director since 1978
Mr. Hale, 62, served as nonexecutive chairman of the Board from
1995 until May 2000. From 2000to 2002, he served as the executive
vice president of Hellman, Jordan Management Co., Inc., a registered
investment advisor specializing in asset management, a position
he also held from 1983 until December 31, 1999. Prior to 1983, Mr.
Hale was president and chief executive officer of Marsh & McClennan
Asset Management Company. He currently serves as a director of OSCA,
Inc. and as a trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Mr. Hale
serves on the Great Lakes Audit and Finance Committee.
Louis E. Lataif

Mr. Lataif, 64, is dean of the School of Management at Boston University,
a position he assumed in 1991 after a distinguished 27-year career
with Ford Motor Corporation. At Ford, Mr. Lataif held positions
that included corporate vice president and general manager of Ford
Division, corporate vice president of North American Sales Operations
and president of Ford of Europe. Mr. Lataif also serves on the boards
of Intier Automotive, Bank Audi (USA), Group 1 Automotive, Magna
Entertainment Corporation, and the Iacocca Foundation. Mr. Lataif
is chairman of Great Lakes' Audit Committee and serves on the Governance
and Nominating Committee.
John C. Lechleiter
Executive Vice President, Pharmaceutical Products and Corporate
Development

Dr. Lechleiter, 49, is executive vice president, pharmaceutical
products and corporate development at Eli Lilly and Company. Since
joining Eli Lilly in 1979, Dr. Lechleiter has held various positions
of increasing responsibility including director, pharmaceutical
product development in the United Kingdom; executive director, pharmaceutical
product development for Lilly Research Laboratories; vice president,
development and regulatory affairs; and senior vice president, pharmaceutical
products. Dr. Lechleiter is a member of the American Chemical Society.
He also serves on the Science and Regulatory Section Executive Committee
of PhRMA, the pharmaceutical industry trade association. He serves
as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory
School. Dr. Lechleiter also serves on the Board of Trustees of the
Children's Museum of Indianapolis and as the chair of the Board
of Corporate Advisors of the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Lechleiter serves to the Great Lakes Audit Committee and Compensation
and Incentive Committee.
Mack G. Nichols
President, Chief Operating Officer, and Director (retired)
Mallinckrodt, Inc.
Director since 1998
Mr. Nichols, 64, retired in 1998 as president, chief operating officer
and director of Mallinckrodt Inc., a diversified chemical and healthcare
company. He has served as a director of OSCA, Inc., A. P. Green
Industries, Inc., the National Association of Manufacturers and
the Chemical Manufacturers Association (now known as the American
Chemistry Council). Mr. Nichols currently serves as a board member
for Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake counties(Colorado). Mr.
Nichols has also served as chairman of the Metropolitan St. Louis
YMCA, as a board member for the St. Louis Art Museum and as a member
of the Chancellor's Council for the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Mr. Nichols is chairman of the Great Lakes Corporate Responsibility
Committee and serves on the Governance and Nominating Committee.
Jay D. Proops

Vigoro Corporation

Mr. Proops, 61, is the retired co-founder and former vice chairman
of the Vigoro Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer
and distributor of fertilizers and related products. During his
career with Vigoro, Mr. Proops served as its vice chairman president,
and chief financial officer and as a director. Prior to founding
Vigoro, Mr. Proops held a number of senior management positions
with Emerson Electric Corporation and Esmark, Inc. He currently
serves as a director of AMCOL International Corp.; member of the
board of trustees of the Allendale Association; as a director of
the Lincoln Park Zoological Society; and as a trustee of Daniel
Webster College and the Montana Land Reliance.
Mr. Proops is chairman of Great Lakes' Fiance committee and serves
on the Audit Committee.
