Where is Great Lakes located?
Our world headquarters is in Indianapolis, Indiana USA. Regional headquarters within the U.S. are located in Lawrenceville, Georgia; West Lafayette, Indiana; and Ashland, Ohio. Regional headquarters for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are located in Manchester, England; and Frauenfeld, Switzerland, and our Asia/Pacific regional headquarters are in Singapore.

Do I need a technical or science background to work at Great Lakes?
No. Great Lakes needs people with skills in a wide range of disciplines—ranging from chemists to accountants and from computer programmers to packaging technicians—in support of our various businesses. We employ thousands of people in many locations around the world with very diverse backgrounds and experiences.

What disciplines are of greatest need to Great Lakes?
Great Lakes needs people for a wide variety of positions, however the majority of our openings are concentrated in the following areas:

  • Chemistry—Great Lakes recognizes that new product development holds the key to our future, and we offer special opportunities for seasoned chemists in a broad range of areas, including non-halogenated additives, hindered amine light stabilizers, fluorine chemistry, and many others.

  • Engineering—Great Lakes utilizes a variety of operational excellence processes, and our engineers are leading our efforts to improve quality and maximize productivity.

  • Finance—Great Lakes relies on our financial experts to ensure that we maximize our return on every new product we develop and every dollar we invest.

  • Information Services—Great Lakes' infrastructure enables us to deliver what we promise—both internally and externally—with greater speed and efficiency. Its foundation is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that allows us to manage the company as a unified global business. It also provides the necessary information to serve our customers more completely and expeditiously. Great Lakes' IS professionals play a critical role in implementing and maintaining this system and managing our migration to new technologies.

  • Technical Sales—As a customer-focused specialty chemical company, Great Lakes depends on its technical sales representatives to build strategic relationships with customers. We're looking for individuals who combine outstanding relationship building skills, consultative selling skills, and technical expertise.

Will Great Lakes help me relocate if I accept a position outside my local area?
Great Lakes seeks to fill open positions in the country of origin. However, Great Lakes may offer a competitive relocation package, dependent upon the position, to support new employees in moving and transitioning to their new work location.

What's the possibility that I'll be transferred to a different location or sent on an international assignment?
As a global company, you'll collaborate with people around the world on a daily basis, however not all of our positions require international travel or relocation. With over 40 locations worldwide, advancement opportunities may on occasion require relocation.
