EPS and XPS are used in a number of areas where flame retardancy
is a requirement, such as boardstock for insulation in industrial
and residential buildlings, and coolers and packing materials. Aliphatic
bromine proves to be most efficient for these foamed materials.
This efficiency
combines with the solubility properties of EPS to make the Great
Lakes™ CD-75P and Great Lakes™ SP-75 the stabilized
version form in process evalutations.
